Love Panel Art {DIY}

So I pinned this a few weeks ago, knowing that I wanted to make one for myself.  I thought it was so cute, especially for February and I loved the idea of the blue and cream...perfect for the living room.

Here's how I made mine:

 I had Wesley cut the pieces I needed. 

5 panel pieces: 11 x 1.75" and 2 back pieces: 7.5"

2 coats of dark under color on the panel pieces

1 coat of light top color.

Hint: I took fabric that I wanted to color match to Home Depot and got the perfect color in the paint section.  I had them mix a sample size for me for $3...more than enough for this and it matches perfectly!

Sand it down to shabby it up!

Turn the pieces over, set the back pieces in place and secure...nails or screws should do.

 Paint on the letters.  If you don't want to freehand, you can use 

this technique I used in my subway art tutorial

It turned out so cute, I think I might keep it out 'till fall rolls in!
